Terms of Use (EULA)
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an end user license agreement between you and the developer of Atticbook: Home Inventory ("Atticbook," "the app," "we," "us"). By downloading or using the app, you agree to these Terms. These Terms are based on, and incorporate the protections of, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement; where these Terms are silent, Apple's standard EULA applies.
1. License
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Atticbook on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, distribute, or resell the app except as permitted by law.
2. What Atticbook Is (Important)
Atticbook is a personal record-keeping tool. It does not provide insurance, valuation, or legal advice. Coverage decisions belong to you and your insurer.
Atticbook lets you record your belongings room by room — photo, brand, model, room, category, serial number, when you got it, an estimated replacement cost, and notes — and export that record as an archive, a PDF report, or a CSV. Atticbook has no relationship with any insurance company. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to any insurer, and nothing in the app constitutes an insurance policy, a quote, a claim filing, a coverage decision, or a professional valuation. Requirements for a home inventory vary by insurer — confirm what yours needs. Estimated replacement costs you enter are your own estimates; the accuracy of your inventory depends entirely on what you enter, and keeping it current is your responsibility.
3. Saving and Backups
Inventory records are saved with integrity checks, and Atticbook verifies photo availability and reports problems instead of hiding them. You can export a complete archive (.atticbook, photos included), a room-by-room PDF, and a CSV to the Files app at any time from Backup & Recovery, and restore from an archive with a preview before anything is replaced. Deleting the app removes its local data from your device. A copy saved to an off-device location — like iCloud Drive — can survive the loss of this device; a copy kept "On My iPhone" shares this device's fate. Because Atticbook has no account and no server, an archive you have exported to Files is the only copy of your records outside the app itself; we recommend keeping one current.
4. Free and Pro (Purchases)
- Free: Lets you create up to 25 items, with every feature described on the app's product page. Exporting the
.atticbookarchive, the PDF report, and the CSV is always free and unlimited, regardless of item count. - Atticbook Pro (one-time): The non-consumable "Atticbook Pro" (product ID
atticbook.pro.lifetime) is offered at USD 5.99. It removes the 25-item cap so you can add and edit an unlimited number of items. It is not a subscription and does not auto-renew. A single payment, with no further charges afterward. The price is shown in the app before purchase. - Restoring purchases: Tap "Restore Purchase" in Settings > Atticbook Pro. Because Atticbook Pro is non-consumable, it can be restored with the same Apple Account after switching devices or reinstalling.
- Refunds: All billing and refunds are handled by Apple, according to Apple's own policy — we have no separate refund policy and cannot issue refunds ourselves. Request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
5. Privacy
Atticbook collects no data, has no account, and does not communicate over the network. All processing, including photo storage, happens on your device. See the Privacy Policy for details.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The app is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any inventory record or replacement-cost estimate will be accepted by any insurer. Atticbook is a personal record-keeping tool, not an insurance, valuation, or legal service; see Section 2.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss arising from use of or inability to use the app, including losses related to a claim, valuation, or coverage decision, or data you did not back up. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
8. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update the app and these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
9. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Japan, except where mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
10. Apple as Third-Party Beneficiary
You acknowledge that Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the app; support is provided by us (see below).
