Atticbook: Home Inventory · Last updated: July 22, 2026

Summary

Atticbook collects no data. It has no account, no analytics, and sends nothing to us. Every room, item, photo, and backup you create is processed and stored entirely on your own iPhone. We operate no server for the app, so there is nowhere for your records to go.

Because of this, Atticbook's App Privacy label on the App Store is "Data Not Collected."

1. Data We Collect

We do not collect, receive, store, or process any personal or usage data. Specifically:

2. Photos

Atticbook lets you add one photo per item, either by choosing an existing photo or by taking a new one with the camera.

3. Network Communication

Atticbook does not connect to the internet. It has no server, does not sync, and does not fetch or send data of any kind while you use it. Every calculation — including replacement-cost totals — happens on your device.

4. Where Your Data Is Stored

Inventory records — rooms, items, and their details — are saved to the app's private storage on your iPhone with integrity checks. Atticbook also verifies that each item's photo is present and matches its record, and reports it if a photo can't be found, instead of hiding the problem. None of this is transmitted to us.

If you have iCloud Backup enabled on your device, this app's local data may be included in that backup, according to your device's iCloud Backup settings. That is a function of iOS and your Apple Account, not of Atticbook — we have no part in it and no access to its contents.

5. Backing Up to Files

Atticbook's Backup & Recovery screen lets you export a complete .atticbook archive — your full inventory, photos included — plus a room-by-room PDF report and a CSV, to the Files app, and later restore from an archive you choose. This only happens when you tap to do it. The file is written to a location you pick in Files (which may include a cloud-connected folder such as iCloud Drive if you choose one); Atticbook itself does not upload it anywhere.

A copy saved to an off-device location — like iCloud Drive or another provider in Files — can survive the loss of this device. A copy kept "On My iPhone" stays on this device and shares its fate. Atticbook can't confirm that an upload to a cloud provider has finished, so give it a moment before you disconnect or delete the app.

6. Purchases

Atticbook Pro (a one-time, non-consumable purchase) is processed entirely by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). Payment is handled by Apple under Apple's own terms and privacy policy. We never see or receive your name, email address, billing address, card number, or any other payment information. The app only checks, via StoreKit on your device, whether your purchase is valid, and keeps a local record of that status on your device. See the Terms of Use for details on how Free and Pro work.

7. Children's Privacy

Because Atticbook collects no data from anyone, it also collects no data from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Any change that would involve collecting data (which we do not plan) would be clearly stated in the app before it took effect.
